We were seniors in high school and always coming up with adventures…taking the train to James Madison, driving all over the state and creating ski trips to get out of work. This girl was one of my closest friends and made growing up fun, exciting and full of fond memories. That was over 15 years ago (yikes) and what I’ve realized is that it was foreshadowing to the AMAZING things she would do in her life. She’s married to a guy who loves adventure as much as she does and they’ve been all over the world doing incredible things. One of their most incredible adventures is about to get started with a new addition to their family. I couldn’t be more excited for them and selfishly, I’m thrilled that she gets to spend some time at “home” to welcome the little one.

Last weekend, we got to shower her with a party and celebrate this soon to be family of three. They don’t know the sex of the baby so in an effort to make the theme exciting, we went with an “international….oh, the places you’ll go” theme. I was pretty stoked on how it turned now.

Here are a few detail images to share and I have to thank a couple of people:

  • Decadent Cakes of Richmond – seriously, if you need a cake, cake pops, etc, I HIGHLY recommend them. First, the cakes taste heavenly. They are SO GOOD. And second, their attention to detail and presentation is beyond amazing. Definitely check them out, you won’t be disappointed. Oh, and the owner is a wonderful person!!
  • Sean – I drove my hubby NUTS before this shower and he helped me along the way. I had a vision and really wanted this to be special. He helped tremendously.

Everyone who came made a block with a letter for the baby. I’m sealing them so the little guy/girl has a set of personalized blocks to play with!2014-04-16_0001

Love you, Mandy. We may not see each other as much as we want but I love that as soon as we’re together, we pick up where we left off. I can’t wait to see you as a mommy and while that little guy/girl doesn’t know it yet, he/she is one of the luckiest kiddos in the world to have you guys as parents. xoxo
